With American Independence Day celebrations in the works and Canada Day a few days ago, the celebrations and summer fun are around us!
I love to celebrate holidays and have found that my fun has increased without alcohol. Planning summer activities with family and friends has become more active with physical activities just like when we were kids. Swimming, playing cornhole (bean bag toss), barbequing, dressing up wildly in your National attire. I never get tired now and have all the energy to keep playing and having fun. One of my favorite things to do is watch the amazing fireworks. I am fortunate to live in a border town so the two border cities put on one of the best fireworks displays in North America. You can feel the thunderous booms, hear the cheers and the screeches of the little kids’ delight at these magnificent works of sound and color.
If you are trying to not drink I encourage you to look at your priorities. Are there activities planned? Can you be more active? Can you be the one to organize some games or activities? Where are you watching the fireworks and what awesome mocktails can you make for yourself? Being present for life’s wonders is a gift I now treasure. I’m not the alcohol police. I have friends that drink. I just don’t. I am clear on how I want to feel in the moment and the next morning.
I would love to hear how your Independence Day or Canada Day went. Are there any changes you want to make? I’ve been there, so no judgment. If you are thinking of change and don’t know where or how to begin, book a discovery call with me at www.levelupcoaching.ca and let’s chat.
Always Zero pressure and full confidentiality.
